The battery life and the screen of the ultra has been awesome. Love the new watch faces, especially the modular ultra.

Moved from Apple Watch series 9 to Ultra 2. This battery life is wild.

lol no offense but this looks absurd. Not classy or good in skinny wrists

Brushed up against an aluminum /metal door handle while checking my mail, once. This is the result. Had the titanium Ultra 1, switched to an ultra 2.

That watch face is killer but too big for your wrist

However, the ultra is HUGE on my wrist, specially on my non-dominant left wrist since it is smaller than my right wrist... The ultra is not too heavy but it's big and I can feel it shift around a bit during my runs and it also gets snagged a bit when I wear long sleeves.

Yeah. For me it lasts a whole marathon. But it doesn't last long enough for ultra marathons... Sadly it only lasts me around 65-70k before it dies on the trail. So it doesn't quite live up to the name ultra. YMMV

I record 2-3 hours of activities every day, and my old watch (series 7) would need a daily midday charge. I just switched to the Ultra 2 and after 2 full days I'm still sitting around 25%. The improved battery is my favorite feature.

I have both Apple Watch 10 (ultra 2 in past) and Garmin Fenix 8 now and garmin for sure lasts 8 to 10 days of extensive use of running... Charging - Apple Watch needs daily charging vs 8 to 10 days on garmin - this is a big win.

I got the ultra one the first few days the bigger size was weird but after that it was fine I got used to it and the battery life is great

Not my first choice for sleep tracking, the thing is massive and thick. I have an ultra 2 for daily wear and a series 10 just for sleep tracking as it's so much thinner and lighter and doesn't get the bold edges caught in the bedding.

โœ… What Works

  • Battery life repeatedly called owners' favorite feature, beating older Watches by days
  • Screen and always-on display praised, especially the Modular Ultra face
  • Some owners report years of heavy training use with no durability issues

โš ๏ธ Worth Knowing

  • Case size runs big โ€” several owners on smaller wrists report it feels huge and shifts/snags during workouts
  • Surface scratches and dings reported within days for some owners
  • Bulk makes it a poor dedicated sleep tracker for some โ€” owners keep a thinner Watch just for sleep
  • Battery life still trails Garmin's multi-day devices for endurance athletes
ClearPick Verdict

Ultra 2 owners are genuinely split (4 positive, 4 negative, 4 mixed across 12 mentions), and both sides have real evidence. Battery life draws the most consistent praise โ€” several owners specifically call the always-on battery their favorite upgrade from earlier Watches. But the same big titanium case that houses that battery is also a top complaint: owners on smaller wrists say it feels โ€œHUGE,โ€ shifts during runs, and snags on sleeves, and multiple owners report surface scratches and dings appearing within days of purchase. A few Garmin switchers also note the daily-charge cycle is a real downgrade versus Garmin's multi-day battery. Good fit for larger wrists and people who want the biggest screen and best battery in the lineup; pass if you have a small wrist or you're coming from a multi-day Garmin and hate daily charging.
