2 days ago i have updated to webos 25. Ever since i have done that, the media player is not working good. After a few minutes of watching it starts to stutter and finnaly it interuptes the movie and it says is have to free up memory. It doing this on Plex service to. Plus that the menu and everything is slower than with the webos 24.
The remote is actually a downgrade from CX--for some reason the cursor doesn't calibrate the movement as fast the CX's one (instantaneous) while the G4 needs a bit of waving before the cursor understands where you're pointing and isn't off to one corner of the screen going in a wonky direction. Kind of annoying and disappointing from tech you'd expect improved after half a decade
About a month ago I found a really great deal on a 65" G4 directly from LG. Unfortunately I've now noticed that it has a substantial amount of vertical banding. In many cases it's not noticeable unless I'm looking for it, but with certain content it's quite clear that it's there.
This question again? C4 is enough for the vast majority but if you have the budget, go for the G4. Only material difference is that the G4 is significantly brighter
The G4 blows them all out of the water... I game loads on my ps5 and watch lots of 4K blu rays and it's just unreal sometimes. The G4 doesnt lose any brightness and color volume in game mode either.
I wouldn't expect the banding to improve much more. You could try running the manual panel refresh, but that will likely have miniscule effect. Some of the panels/sizes are just a crapshoot. If you don't notice it in actual content I wouldn't worry about it, but going looking for problems can make you notice them more when you find them.
Same here. Got the exact same issue. Tried everything I found online. Unplugged the TV while turned off then replugged it. Unplugged the TV while still on and replugged it. Unplugged the TV hold on the on/off plysical button for 10 sec and replugged it. Nothing worked. It still does it.
I have the g4 83 and frankly have no need for something brighter. This thing is a torch
In a dim room the panels arent that crazy different, but... one can be used in a semi-bright room and the other (C1) will struggle with glare and a vibrant image. Also doesnt hurt that the G4 has more tech and is generally more capable for various uses.
I have the G4 as well. It’s so damn good. The darkness in scenes from Resident Evil Requiem are perfection in the scariest way possible
It does make a big enough difference if you watch lots of HDR content and / or have a well lit room while watching. The keywords are full screen brightness and peak brightness, of which the G4 has the highest in LGs OLED lineup. Plus, the G series has even better anti reflection coating, which is crucial for bright rooms.
solid deal. i got my 65 g4 new for $1600 last april and was thrilled. enjoy it! make sure to dial in the settings console and display side to enjoy the full effect of hdr.
I was worried it wouldn’t be as bright as a Mini led, but I literally had to turn down the brightness because it was too bright😂
But when I put it side by side with the G4, the G4 is definitely brighter. I haven't really gone into the settings yet, but even out of the box the difference is noticeable.
I upgraded from the LG C1 77" to the LG G4 77" for the brightness, processing, and upgraded gaming features. The picture quality is nearly identical with the C Series, but if you want that extra punch in HDR the G4 is the way to go. The G4 also doesn't lose color volume in Game Mode.
My concern especially for gaming would be to return the c4 for a g4 then get a panel that has vertical banding. Doesn’t matter how bright your tv gets if you’re greeted with banding every time.
