NEMO Disco 15 Sleeping Bag

Best Cold-Weather Down Bag

The NEMO Disco 15 is the sleeping bag of choice for side sleepers across Canada โ€” its unique spoon-shaped cut flares at the knees and hips so you can sleep in any position without fighting the bag. The Blanket Fold system lets you vent your feet without unzipping, and the 650-fill power DownTek treated down stays lofted even in damp conditions. Rated to 15ยฐF (-9ยฐC), it handles Canadian three-season camping with ease.

For another comparison, if you take the women's long and men's regular disco 15s (which are again basically the same dimensions for height/width), the women's version is about 8oz heavier and packs 2.5 L larger than the men's, while also being rated for about 10 degrees colder weather if you compare the same temp ratings for both. If they rebranded and sold the women's long disco 15 as a men's regular, they would call it a 5 degree bag

I've got the disco 15. I recently used it in 55ish weather overnight and left it unzipped and slept pretty well. I always prefer the option to sleep warmer if available. My friend uses a disco 30 and admits he gets cold some nights (while camping in Arizona during springtime)

But I got the disco 30 and taking it out on trips where it barely dipped into the 50's I was cold. I like the design of the bag so I got the 15 as well and haven't had a problem. Definitely get the long version, I'm only 5'8" but I have wide shoulders and the long version is also a bit wider.

I owned that bag and camped at elevation with a pad that had an R rating of 5.5 I think. It got down to 25 degrees and I was comfortable. ... The bag is roomy and comfortable but I ended up returning it because the down was light in some areas and it had cold spots.

Nice! I've got the women's disco 15 too and like it as my cold weather bag. I'm a guy and got it because it is warmer than the men's version and I sleep on the colder side. It does pack down pretty well for how warm it is, and how much roomier it is than standard mummy bags

I have the Disco and Rave. Love these bags. Super comfortable. Glad I'm not the only one who feels that way.

My wife and I have the same bags in male/female style. They are incredible bags! Pro tip: if you have both the male/female bags they can zip together into one super bag.

โœ… What Works

  • Spoon shape provides significantly more room at the hips and feet than a traditional mummy โ€” purpose-built for side sleepers
  • 650-fill DownTek water-resistant down retains loft better than standard down in damp conditions
  • 15ยฐF (-9ยฐC) rating handles late-season Canadian camping and shoulder-season nights reliably
  • Blanket fold collar allows warmth adjustment without unzipping the bag

โš ๏ธ Worth Knowing

  • Wider profile adds weight and packed volume compared to a standard mummy bag at the same rating
  • Not waterproof โ€” DownTek water resistance helps in condensation but not sustained wet conditions
  • Three-season only โ€” not rated for winter camping below -15ยฐC
ClearPick Verdict

The NEMO Disco 15 is for Canadian campers who prioritize sleep quality over minimum weight. If you sleep on your side and spend three-season nights where temperatures drop into single digits, this bag solves a real problem. Pure gram-counters should look at a standard mummy.
