I ordered a 20L of this Peak Design backpack as a Kickstarter backer, and Peak Design told everyone to expect it some time around December. It arrived at my doorstep on November 11. That doesn't sound like "months to fulfill orders" to me, not when they shipped mine weeks ahead of schedule!
They just sewed it wrong. The apex of the curve of the one of the side panels is about half an inch lower than the other one. The pockets are supposed to roughly line up with the stitching in the front but they don't. Edit: Just looks kinda sloppy. Not really something I expect from a 260 USD bag.
For a $260 dollar bag the metal hardware wasn't as nice as it should have been. First bag I got had anodization issues on the rungs for the latch. Got it swapped for another one, but this one has imperfections on the clasp itself (where you pull) and loose threads. I don't really want to wait another month and a half for an exchange so I'll just deal with it.
Another update! Something I will add since I've been using it a bit more, the excess strap has only popped out of the adjustment/strap hold down bit once when the strap got caught on something. It's super easy to put back in though... The back foam is great... Depending on how much you load up your bag, having a laptop in it, the tipping issue isn't as bad... The Repreve fabric on the outside and seems to clean off well from something I had spill on it.
Back base of neck yeah, if i wear the backpack a little bit lower then it's not as bad. I've had another backpack with that bit of fabric in the past start to stretch out and deform due to use too.
I had the same quality issues as your replacement bag in both the original and replacement. They told me that they're trying to isolate the bags with quality issues, so it may have been a bad batch. Both my bags had issies though so I don't have a comparison for a 'good' bag
Yep the ash colored one doesn't last at all. Mine is all yellow now. And the pouch is disintegrating leaving black stuff everywhere.
Same here. I have a number of their products. Have not had to use their warranty yet, but I really am impressed with the brand so far. I'm not a photographer, however.
