Many of Soles decks also have good cushion.

I just finished building it this evening. Definitely a lot of plastic!

I just moved and still have my f80 in my garage because it's heavy as hell to get down to my basement.

We got the F80 and have been super pleased with it. However, the longer deck was a driver for us due to our height/stride length.

Well. I got it yesterday, installed today. Too bad I can't use it because the motor is seized (the belts should move freely when you push/pull it, it doesn't).

The guy did at least refund me half the price when I told him it wasn't working. He thought it might only need a belt replacement and he thought he gave me a belt, but it was just lube. ... So right now id be in it for about $600 with a new belt and motor.

Not going to lie, this looks like a downgrade compared to the previous version. Curious to see how it compares.

When I set it to the Heart Rate based workout it is constantly asking me to change the speed... Very annoying.

So basically I paid for better customer service and a thicker belt.

The screen is SUPER dark. If you have any natural light nearby it almost impossible to see

I just picked up a sole f80 on marketplace and I'm worried I got screwed. They had a video of it working, adjusting speed and height, but now that I've got it set up it dies out when stepping on it.

โœ… What Works

  • Deck cushioning and longer belt praised by owners with taller strides
  • Better customer service reported compared to some competitors

โš ๏ธ Worth Knowing

  • Motor reliability is the dominant complaint, including full seizure under load
  • Repair costs can run several hundred dollars for belt and motor replacement
  • Newer model criticized for a downgraded feel and hard-to-read screen
  • Heavy and difficult to move between rooms or floors
ClearPick Verdict

This is one of the more negative products in the batch โ€” 8 of 11 mentions are negative, with motor reliability the dominant complaint. Multiple owners describe motors seizing or dying under load: "the belts should move freely when you push/pull it, it doesn't" and another paid roughly $600 total after a used unit needed a new belt and motor. A newer 2026 revision draws separate complaints about a downgraded feel, a screen that's hard to read, and a heart-rate mode that constantly nags to change speed. The unit's weight also comes up as a real practical downside for anyone who needs to move it. A couple of long-time owners are genuinely happy with the deck cushioning and stride length, so it's not universally bad. Worth considering only if you're buying new with a solid warranty in hand; risky as a used purchase or if long-term motor reliability is a priority.
