I answered my own question: saw a pop-up on the website to video chat (they don't see you) with a rep, I got in touch with a nice man named Frederique after only a few seconds. He confirmed that the Era 100 and 300 would be able to take line-in connections AND group that to the rest of my system :)
the Sonos Era 100 to my ears sound better than the Move due to the stereo separation on the Era 100 although the Move is no slouch either
A single Era 100 is great for a bathroom, sitting area, in stereo a nice turntable set up that doesn't play spatial audio. They can get nice and loud and maintain audio quality, great sound stage with proper placement and can still make Hanz Zimmer's Interstellar score wow you in a live recording.
If you can't afford a pair of 300s, go for a pair of 100s. A single speaker will always be less appealing.
I recently got my first Sonos product and I LOVE it. I went with a single Era 100 and it sounds great in my small dorm room.
The Era 100s only accept in-line connections when they are in their own group, meaning you CAN'T USE YOUR SPEAKERS IN SURROUND SOUND MODE, i.e., the whole point of adding satellite speakers.
I do think the era 100s are slightly better rears than the Samsung 930Ds pair.
I know the build quality is going to be like Apple products back in 2002-2013 era (meaning immaculate, beautiful and high quality in build and aesthetics). ... Looks-wise, this Sonos is gorgeous and looks better than my previous Soundbars which were both black and took up too much visual space.
