The HDMI 2.1 implementation is weird with this TV. The HDMI 2.1 ports are separate from the eARC port. One HDMI 2.1 port is capable 4K144 while the other is capable of 4K120. ... The issue with separating HDMI 2.1 functionality from the eARC port is that any receiver or Soundbar you connect to the TV is limited to HDMI 2.0 bandwidth.
I can't speak for the quality of the TV itself, but Google TV is one of the best Os's for a TV. It natively let's you install third party apps, and you can even install 3rd party launchers that get rid of all the ads.
Picture quality is very solid for the price point. I hooked it up to an Apple TV but the onboard interface is nice looking and quick enough.
Do you *need* the ARC port to be 4k144hx tho? Very few soundbars will support that, and even if they do, you should be plugin directly to the TV anyways. This will be very subjective, but at least for me I would want 4 HDMI port: One dedicated port for the PC, the console, streaming box, and an EARC port.
Damn good deal. I would've loved to jump on it if I was settled down but right now I can't afford to make (literally) large purchases.
The TCL Q6 65-inch is the strongest value proposition in the $799 CAD TV market — Mini-LED backlighting, 120Hz with HDMI 2.1 for gaming, Dolby Vision IQ, and Google TV in one package. Blooming and mediocre speakers are real trade-offs, but neither undermines the picture quality advantage over IPS and VA competitors at similar prices. If your budget is under $900 and you want the best possible picture, this is the one to buy.
