I believe only the redline 360c is RDD immune. The regular 360c can be detected hundreds of feet away. V1G2 is also immune. The Unidines vary from model to model and from unit to unit. Even though I had an RDD immune detector, I opted to put it in the glove box when in Virginia.
Honestly it sounds like your R3 is still serving you just fine. However, if you're comfortable without arrows (you've been rocking your R3 for some time) I'd actually recommend the R4. It's super compact and gets you the capabilities of the R8 (minus arrows) and arguably even better range in many cases.
Use it at your own risk. Uniden detectors are claimed to be RDD immune but in practice how immune depends on the individual unit not just the model. You can have two different R3s and one may be only detectable if you are a few feet from the officer where others could be detected a few hundred feet away.
The R3 has served me well too (No tickets since 2015). Upgraded to the R4. The R4 and R8 ranges are significantly improved and worth the investment.
