I hold out hope that there were also some design changes to minimize or eliminate the moisture issue. If there were, Apple would NEVER admit this, so we will have to wait until someone tears them down. The new ones are 1.5 grams heavier, and that could just be the USB-C driver and connector . . . . but *maybe* they sealed some things up . . .
Yeah I didn't like the sound quality out of the box, but it was a lot better after using an EQ from this sub. Dare I even say it's quite close to the Sennheiser's I'm daily driving
There is no moisture 'issue'; you'd see a residue on the boards or electronic components, or corrosion where the headband connectors are, and the nickel-plated headband contacts are pristine under a microscope ... The earcups themselves don't allow condensation to pass through to the electronics ... That's not to say that people shouldn't be disappointed with Apple - a flaw in the cable that allows the earcups to swivel causes the cable to split in some cases, exacerbated by encouraging users to place the units in their bra case for charging
as a longtime user of Sony's XM line, I recently picked up a pair of AirPods Max and echo your statements. ... $500 is a lot by comparison, but they're so far above in terms of build quality that I made a bet it will be worth it in the long run. I've probably spent $1200 on Sony's headphones over the last decade and don't have a functioning pair to show for it.
I have a smaller size head apm2 hurt me Sony xm6 were good just very shallow cups. I like the Bose.
