If the respective Internet Security suites are still cheaper, go with them, you get exactly the same level of protection. Kaspersky would be my preference here, you get the same or better protection while having lighter performance impact.
an antivirus is what protects you from malwares, you probably don't need one if you're a very casual user... you can pay less and use their internet security which is cheaper, you don't need total security. heck, even if you just use bitdefender free antivirus, it's good enough for most casual users.
Extra software bundled with AVs (password managers, VPNs, backup utilities, etc.) tend to just be rebadged software from somewhere else, and are pretty limited.
It generally gets rated as one of the best anti-virus softwares out there. Well worth it.
Alright, I have that path as well. 29 folders, all names beginning with tmp000... So it appears that when Bitdefender updates its engine, it's not able to clean up the installation files.
I was very happy for several years with Bitdefender free edition, it was nice and smooth, really efficient and quiet... But I'm regretting it so hard already. It is making my (very powerful) computer so laggy now. Especially on my browser but not exclusively. Whenever I disable Bitdefender shield, problems are gone... it's really a pain in the ass that Bitdefender will by default keep trying to force me to use their password manager and VPN when I already have what I need. 80 bucks a year for a license and it's adware?
