I have a bose and while it is expensive: I find it to have the most clear sound and also the most portable of any speaker i own. Everything about it just feels premium

I have 2 Max's and loses between 10-20% battery per week depending on the week ... So basically you'll have a dead speaker to recharge after 2 months of sitting idle after a full recharge ... This constantly battery cycle drain will lead to premature battery failure over the years.

I really love my Bose Max. It's currently in my bathroom for Shower Music. Loses 10% basically daily which I thought was wierd.

The Bose Max sounds great, and has a very rugged and usable design. It's the perfect speaker for portability, usability and sound quality - but it suffers from a known battery drain issue where the battery loses as much as 10% per week while turned off.

Bruh I stood next to the Bose on the floor and the sound is so amazing. The Killburn has good trebles but it doesnt hit you like the Bose. Idk why everyone keeps talking about Marshall, some say they can make it sound like Bose but why the effort?

Bought it and returned it. Was disappointed. Got 2 motion+ as my small speakers and 2 HK Go Play 3 for my big ones. When they go on sale, highly recommend.

The Bose is nasty I just got it. Almost spiritual how crisp the sound is lol. Just make sure you download the app so you can change the settings

The Max though can pressurize my office at 30% volume, which I did not expect. Also, the stereo imaging is surprisingly pronounced, especially when sitting directly across from the speaker. The sweet spot seems to be about 70%, and anything after that loses some clarity and bass, however, 70% is pretty damn loud.

As far as the max, it's not the most loved speaker but it's the best speaker from bose yet, ... Offering it's unique soft sound signature and heavy upperbass.

โœ… What Works

  • Sound quality is class-leading for portable speakers โ€” the woofer + dual tweeter configuration produces stereo separation and bass depth that compact single-driver speakers can't match.
  • 20-hour battery enables multi-day use without charging โ€” at moderate volume, the SoundLink Max easily covers a full outdoor weekend event from a single charge.

โš ๏ธ Worth Knowing

  • At 908g it's notably heavier than the JBL Flip 7 (540g) โ€” this is the tradeoff for better sound; pack weight matters for hiking, but it's fine for beach or car camping.
  • Aux input jack is a rare feature in 2026 โ€” connects directly to any audio source without Bluetooth, useful for legacy devices and guaranteed lossless audio.
ClearPick Verdict

The Bose SoundLink Max is the best portable speaker for audio enthusiasts โ€” the sound quality gap over $179 alternatives is audible and significant. If sound quality is your priority and budget allows, the SoundLink Max is worth every dollar. For casual outdoor use, the JBL Flip 7 is the smarter buy.
