A con is its using an old school vesa mount design. I much prefer the new method manufacturers have been doing of being able to remove the vesa mount plate and attaching that to the monitor as oppose to having to mount the monitor onto the stand itself
For me, it helps with viewing angles bc I use my monitors from my bed AND desk. It also frees up a lot of space on my desk bc there is no need for the 3 monitor stands bc I have them all mounted
I don't even need one of these, but $55 for TWO of the Herman Millers of Monitor Arms is just too good to pass up (especially since I cannot imagine this deal ever coming back again). But oh well, maybe my future self or a friend/family member will need'em.
Ergotron has clearly better quality, if you have the budget. Personally, I'd stick with the 2nd anyway
For the love of God do not spend more then $50 on monitor arms. They're not going to be better for $300+
I own the black models, definitely didn't get these deals! Holds my 34" ultrawide and my vertical 27" for years. Locks in place and never has moved.
As mentioned, they save you a ton of deskspace. That is the primary reason I use them. Especially with multiple monitors. It also allows you to reposition a monitor vertically on the fly if you have that preference, as well as adjusting all monitors to the heights you need whenever. They are non-vital but I consider them a quality of life purchase that I would not want to be without since converting.
Test setting it with my 32 incher I found that (yes I should read the specs next time) there is basically 0 (says -5 degrees) negative (downwards) tilt to the arm. I understand that the height of a 32 inches monitor is greater than that of a 34 inches one (same as 27 inches), but I still see it being a problem. Very disappointed at that, even though the construction of the arm is really good.
The Ergotron LX doesn't look that good to me since from what I keep reading it's max height is 33cm, which is a little low for my 32" monitor.
