Not HP supporter by any means but I have one for more than 3 years and other colleagues even longer and not only the battery is totally fine but also still holds a good amount of original charging capacity. The same for the hinges although I don't make significant usage of the hybrid/tablet "mode".
As somebody who uses my 13" mostly for small portable media consumption I don't think the extra vertical real estate is worth the size increase. I can see it being very popular with people who want a small productivity beast though.
Hard to say. I have had zoom running in a meeting w/ camera and microphone on for the last 5 minutes. My battery hasn't dropped a single percentage yet so I would imagine the battery life would be at least 10 hours probably much longer if it remains similar to testing from last time, hard to say. But definitely longer than 1.5 hours.
As someone who used the 13" for a long time, I would say that if you're looking for a small and portable machine for media consumption, you aren't going to do much better than the 13" Spectre, particularly with the 4k OLED from my experience. Truly terrific. 16:9 content looks great on the 14" too, though. On Netflix, it streams at 1440p. Looks terrific. There are some nice quality of life adds that the 14" has that I assume the new 13" 11th gen one will get as well. Focus mode, which I just discovered, automatically darkens all the background screens you have open to preserve battery. Works great.
Definitely skews closer to the 13" than the 15" and it's not even close. The height is about .75 inches taller than the 13", and close to the 15". But it's about .25" narrower than the 13", a couple inches narrower than the 15 (I'm estimating), and definitely lacks the bulk of the 15". In hand, it feels just like the 13" weight wise. The 15" feels heavy and bulky by comparison ... The aspect ratio of the 14" makes it feel more natural as a tablet for sure, and the extra height when you are reading in any mode (laptop, tablet, tent) is helpful.
For laptops in general, especially for HP to cram a webcam into such a small bezel/border I would not expect the webcam to be anywhere close to being high quality. I had a skype call with a relative this morning and quality certainly seemed good enough. My relative didn't mention if the quality was better or worst and microphone seemed to be working fine. I did take a look later in zoom and noticed there's a lot of noise/grain in the camera footage, however, lighting did look balanced and there was definitely no unexpected harsh contrast anywhere on my face.
The 13" 4k had a smaller battery (61000 vs 66000) and got about 7 hours. I expect this will do slightly better with a bigger battery and lower res display.
This is the 3K Oled panel. I used the 13" 4k OLED panel for about 45 days and didn't see any trace of burn-in. Obviously that's not a very long time. I do use hide the task bar and shuffle desktop pics to make sure there aren't still images just sitting there.
I've had the 14 for a couple hours now. So far, I'd say I'm pretty impressed. The extra space on the keyboard deck makes it more comfortable to use for people with big hands. The extra space on the trackpad is welcome. Audio quality is sufficient. The screen is terrific.
