I noticed the same thing this morning on my Shark AI. It seems to be working fine UltraCleaning one room at a time, but I did find the High Traffic Zones function to be useful. I tend to clean those areas more frequently than the rest of the house.
Shark AI Ultra XL HEPA Robot Vacuum
The Shark AI Ultra XL HEPA upgrades the standard Shark AI Ultra with a larger 90-day self-emptying base and a HEPA filter that traps 99.97% of particles โ making it the best robot vacuum for Canadian allergy sufferers and households with pets. The self-cleaning brushroll handles long pet hair, and the XL base means fewer trips to empty the dustbin.

I called the support and the support person says they have this problem a fair bit. He Registered it over the phone for me. He used a similar model to register. I got a thanks for registering email. The phone call was close to 20 minutes. It would save the customer and the support person a fair bit of time if all model numbers are recognized.
I just spoke to Shark today and was informed that high-traffic zones no longer exist as an option. It seems to be permanent for now, but hopefully they bring it back. It was definitely one of the better features.
I still recommend the hell out of Shark to people wanting their floors cleaned but don't want to break the bank, but I never tell them pay full price. Haven't paid a penny over $200 for any of mine (all refurbs).
The employee informed them that "the app has been basically broken" for about a month. What that means exactly - I don't know - but it wouldn't surprise me if they had to temporarily axe the high traffic zones in order to address the problem. Disappeared for me as well
โ What Works
- Core cleaning hardware not directly criticized in these reports
- Some owners still recommend Shark models when bought refurbished or discounted
- High-Traffic Zones was considered "one of the better features" before its removal
โ ๏ธ Worth Knowing
- App reported broken for an extended period, with features disappearing without notice
- High-Traffic Zones function removed and not restored as of these reports
- Customer support described as slow, including a ~20-minute call for basic registration issues
- Best value only at discounted/refurbished pricing, not full price
- Score revised from an earlier pass in this same correction sweep to accurately reflect the sentiment split above โ treat this as the current, corrected figure.
Owner reports on the Shark AI Ultra XL HEPA lean negative, driven almost entirely by app and support issues rather than the vacuum hardware itself. The dominant theme is app functionality: owners describe the app being "basically broken" for about a month, and confirm with Shark support that the High-Traffic Zones feature was removed and, as of these reports, hadn't returned. One owner spent nearly 20 minutes on a support call just to register a model number the system didn't recognize. On value, one mixed comment still recommends Shark "to people wanting their floors cleaned," but specifically advises against paying full price, buying refurbished instead. The core cleaning hardware isn't the complaint here โ the software layer and support experience are. Reasonable if bought at a discount and you don't rely on high-traffic-zone targeting; less appealing if consistent app functionality matters to you.
