I'd go with the Weber. Traeger isn't bad, but you can tell they are just coasting on name brand

I bought the Woodridge Pro this weekend. It is a solid build absolutely nothing to complain about. I made a brisket, ribs, and chicken in it, all turned out perfect. I really did not see the difference in build quality but the fact that it comes with the bottom storage and a side table in the box also helped my decision. I really like the clip on accessories as well.

A shocking amount of hate in the Traegers. I bought a woodridge pro, and I have had 0 issues. Also nice I can monitor it from miles away

Treager is overpriced anymore for the quality of their stuff, much better options out there these days, you're just paying for the name.

Traeger's feel like cheap s*** if you get your hands on one. They were the first in the game and use that to sell you sub par s***. I have a Recteq, it's not bad but I'd go with the Searwood.

I'm pretty sure Traeger is more jester than king. Just don't buy a Masterbuilt or something...

First brisket I have ever cooked. Traeger Woodridge Pro seasoned with Goldies brisket seasoning. 180 for 2 hours then 200 overnight with super smoke cranked up to 225 the next morning. Cooked unwrapped the entire time total cook time 17 hours. I would let it rest longer next time, but very happy with the results considering it was my first attempt.

✅ What Works

  • Solid build with no complaints for some owners, including included bottom storage and side table
  • Brisket, ribs, and chicken have turned out well for first-time users
  • Remote app monitoring is convenient for owners who like checking cooks from a distance

⚠️ Worth Knowing

  • Several owners describe the build quality as feeling cheap or "sub par" compared to newer competitors
  • Widely seen as overpriced relative to competition, with owners saying you're "paying for the name"
  • Some owners recommend rivals like the Weber Searwood instead, calling Traeger a brand "coasting" on reputation
ClearPick Verdict

Owner sentiment on the Woodridge is unanimously negative in this sample, 4 of 7 mentions critical, centered on the feeling of paying a premium for the Traeger name rather than for quality. Several owners describe the build as feeling "cheap" or "sub par" compared to newer competitors, and multiple mentions argue it's overpriced, with one saying you're "just paying for the name" and another recommending a Weber Searwood instead because Traeger is "coasting on name brand." On the positive side, first-time users report solid results — brisket, ribs, and chicken all turning out well — and remote app monitoring is a convenience some appreciate. Reasonable if brand familiarity and app convenience matter to you and cooking results check out; value-focused buyers comparing pellet grills should cross-shop competitors before paying full price.
