I'm dropping the wyze platform during my next cam hardware upgrade cycle because of lack of native RTSP

Yes to all that. I use the docker-wyze bridge for the few wyze cams I do have and Im holding back on getting more until they wyze up.

Don't see it on the website, but that's a **great deal** for the Floodlight Pro by itself, only $1 off its *all-time low* price, plus you're getting the v4 for free.

I also use wyze-bridge and love it. I'll use it until my Wyze cameras die, but I'm not buying any more Wyze products until they add RTSP. I wish they would go back and watch some of their early videos on YouTube where they talked about their community of users and how grateful they were for their Wyze family. I think they realized they could make a ton of money with subscriptions and they turned their back on us.

Fr I stopped recommending Wyze after they crippled microSD users. 5 minute cooldown for notifications is a travesty - on their doorbell even - and nagware to view said notification event for video playback is such a slap in the face to early supporters and our referrals to friends and family

In the support article you guys mention better edge ai, happy to see the cameras are able to do more local processing. Any word on rtsp or some other local support so we don't have to rely on wyze servers to secure our data?

I still prefer 1080p @ 30 fps than 2-4k at 12-15fps, specially on budget cameras. But all this companies feel pressured to go with the marketing gimmick of 2-4k, and I think Eufy has a lot to do with it.

None of the new cams support cam plus lite. Gotta get use to use the sd cards but at least the newer cams do a lot faster job loading up the video.

Wyze came out with yet another camera that misses the mark. I hate all my Wyze cameras because the app is constantly nagging me to pay a subscription. If Wyze truly cared about what users want and listened to their Wyze family, they would give us RTSP. In the early days of Wyze they said they cared, but that changed a while ago.

I have a microsd card in the camera. All of a sudden if I want to do event recording, and record them as videos instead of thumbnails, I need a subscription. Doesn't seem to be right?

โœ… What Works

  • Bundled deals can be good value
  • Faster local SD card video loading than older Wyze models
  • Straightforward setup for casual users

โš ๏ธ Worth Knowing

  • No RTSP support โ€” the most-cited complaint by returning Wyze users
  • Growing push toward subscription features for event video playback
  • Resolution/frame-rate tradeoffs owners say undercut the 2.5K spec
  • Notification cooldowns and nagware criticized by longtime users
  • Score revised from an earlier pass in this same correction sweep to accurately reflect the sentiment split above โ€” treat this as the current, corrected figure.
ClearPick Verdict

Owners report a real gap between marketing and real-world satisfaction: of 10 tracked mentions, 7 are negative and only 2 positive. The dominant complaint, raised in 4 of 10 mentions, is the lack of RTSP support โ€” longtime Wyze users say they've stopped buying new Wyze cameras over it, with one writing they "wish they would go back and watch some of their early videos... about their community of users" before the company "realized they could make a ton of money with subscriptions." Others flag the resolution/frame-rate tradeoff at higher resolutions and continued push toward subscription-gated features like event video playback. A couple of buyers still call it a decent deal, especially in bundles. Good fit for casual users who just want app-based clips and don't mind Wyze's subscription push; a pass for anyone who wants local RTSP streaming or has soured on the brand's direction.
