I wouldn't put it past Zinus to keep on selling mattresses with Fiberglass. In fact I ordered a cheapie from Amazon under the company name "Best Price Mattress" but on the tag it said "Zinus." Made in Indonesia. Not only that, the tag had been altered to cover up "Glass Fiber 11%" with "FR Barrier 11%". I assumed that the mattress did contain fiberglass but they just changed the tag. So, so shady. I returned it. Why take a chance -- the beds are inexpensive and if they get damaged or torn and the fiberglass comes out, would you want your baby or you to be breathing in microscopic bits of fiberglass that could damage your lungs and skin? Yeeeccch.

I love my Zinus green tea mattress. The last two mattresses were 5 or 10x the price. They felt good when new but after a year or two not so much. The Zinus is two years old and looks and feels exactly as it did when new.
Hi! We purchased this mattress for our guest bedroom a few years ago, and it was horrible. It never fully decompressed. The corners always sagged. Not sure about yours but ours smelled HORRIBLE the entire year it was in the guest bedroom. I could always smell the mattress whenever I walked in that room. My in-laws slept on the bed for 2 months and did not find it that comfortable. Perhaps it gets more comfortable as one sleeps on it and as time goes, but, that thing had to get out of my house. We sold it to a gentleman who said he was taking it down to Burning Man to sleep on. Sounds about the perfect place for that mattress. Perhaps ours was an anomaly. I hope it works out for you and your experience gets better. Just had to chime in because I found that mattress to be complete junk.
Glad the mattress is working out for you, but quality and longevity is typically the issue with the Chinese imported mattresses. They stay boxed up for months, as they come over by the thousands by sea, and kept in Amazon's warehouse. Then don't last very long because the company keeps dropping densities on the foams to cut cost. Not to mention, they put "green tea" in the foam - which is pretty much an insult.
I've been on the mattress now for about three weeks and I love it! I have always been a spring mattress guy and this is my first venture into foam and it's great! The mattress is soft enough where it sucks you in when you lay on it. I'm comfortable on my sides, back and front. I would suggest getting the waterproof mattress sheet, I didn't at first and one of my sons bottles leaked a little on the bed and the foam just soaked it up, it was kinda a pain in the ass to clean. I would recommend this mattress, especially at its price point. I noticed I sleep better through the night and no longer toss and turn. I would give it 4 out of 5 stars already.
Zinus is a really low quality brand. I slept on 3 different ones over 7 years. Try a Costco Tempurpedic. No regrets. Sleep amazing and all the hassle of returns is non existent.
I've had mine for 5y, debating looking into another one but I like it a lot more than my wife who is half my size
The description mentions **absolutely nothing** to do with foam density and quality. If it's temporary, you're not very heavy or you're the type that can sleep on any surface, it'll last you 1 - 4 years, tops.
I had a king sized Zinus Green Tea 12" memory foam mattress from 2018-2020 and it was my favorite mattress of all time! I would have been happier with slightly more support but it was the most comfortable aside from that! I left it behind after a move and haven't been satisfied with any mattress since BUT refuse to repurchase due to knowing about the fiber glass health concerns.
โ What Works
- Comfortable initial sink-in feel praised by side, back, and stomach sleepers
- Some owners report it looking and feeling like new after two years
- Strong value at its price point compared to premium mattresses
โ ๏ธ Worth Knowing
- Longevity is the top complaint โ reports of sagging corners and foam that never fully decompressed
- Persistent chemical/odor smell reported by multiple owners, in one case lasting the life of the mattress
- Owners note budget import mattresses like this one often use lower-density foam that breaks down faster
- One report (unverified, different SKU) raised fiberglass content concerns worth being aware of
Owner reports on the Zinus Green Tea split sharply: several buyers describe it losing shape or developing a strong odor within the first year, with one describing a returned unit as feeling "complete junk" and citing corner sag and a persistent smell that never faded. Longevity is the most-mentioned complaint (3 of 9 mentions), including comments that budget import mattresses like this one cut foam density over time to save cost. A subset of owners, including one two-year owner who says it "looks and feels exactly as it did when new," report it holding up well, and comfort itself gets mixed-to-positive marks for side/back/stomach sleepers. One Reddit user also raised a concern about fiberglass content tied to a differently-branded Zinus-tagged mattress, though that report is specific to a different SKU and unverified for this exact model โ worth flagging but not confirmed. A budget pick that works well for some sleepers short-term; skip it if you want confidence in multi-year durability or are sensitive to off-gassing odor.
