Mop design can spread dirt on muddy floors
I'm thinking that if you routinely have quite muddy floors to clean up, then a horizontal spinning mop may not be good enough. The issue is that they don't collect dirty water, and have to return to the base station to clean the pads. So by design they do kind of dilute and spread dirt around.

As soon as it leaves the dock, it starts dripping a steady stream of water from the rear of the robot, near the water refill port.
