I’m thinking that if you routinely have quite muddy floors to clean up, then a horizontal spinning mop may not be good enough. The issue is that they don’t collect dirty water, and have to return to the base station to clean the pads. So by design they do kind of dilute and spread dirt around.

Best robot vacuum I’ve owned and haven’t had any issues. The lifting chassis has been a game changer as well, hasn’t got stuck once, can make it into my bathrooms, and vacuum very high pile rugs. I also use the mopping solution and am very satisfied, everytime I change the water tanks I can tell it’s working and there aren’t any streaks, even on the edges by my floorboards.

The pascal ratings are mostly marketing fluff. They measure the effective lift, but that is not the only thing that determines a great vaccum. Airflow and agitation are very big factors. I'm standing here now and don't feel much if any difference in airflow between the Curv and the Slim though there is about 8k pascals difference between them.

If I was dropping the money I would go with the narwal unless your 2nd story needs mopping. The narwal does not have an onboard water tank and would need to go back the base to rewet and clean pads. The curvs obstacle avoidance appears to be decent at best from what videos I’ve seen.

I debated between the S1 and this for a while, but having previously used Roborock I guess I just stuck with what I knew. There isn’t physical mud piles, but definitely dirty paws quite often. I have the curv set to wash every 10 minutes and I guess I should have accounted for the significant value of the self washing roller on the S1 more intently.

Master has double rollers. Curv is better on carpet and about the same on hard floor surfaces.

Z mops better than the Curv. The Z also has different obstacle avoidance hardware that makes it so much better than the Curv. I'm in this same pickle but leaning towards the Z.

The no stinky water tank sounds great. The curv dirty water is one of the worst smells I’ve encountered.

We have had this $1400(purchase price) robot roaming our house continuously for 2 months now, and underwhelmed doesn’t describe how I feel writing this today

✅ What Works

  • AdaptiLift chassis handles high-pile rugs and tight spaces well
  • Strong reported cleaning on hard floors with no streaking for some owners
  • Self-washing roller/mop maintenance appreciated by several owners

⚠️ Worth Knowing

  • Spinning mop design doesn't collect dirty water and can spread grime on heavily soiled floors
  • Dirty water tank develops a strong, unpleasant odor
  • Obstacle avoidance and mopping trail competing flagships in owner comparisons
  • Marketed suction (Pascal) rating questioned as not reflecting real airflow difference
  • Score revised from an earlier pass in this same correction sweep to accurately reflect the sentiment split above — treat this as the current, corrected figure.
ClearPick Verdict

Reaction is mixed-to-negative among the 9 tracked mentions (4 negative, 3 mixed, 2 positive). Owners like the lifting AdaptiLift chassis for high-pile rugs and tight spaces, and mopping is praised by some, but recurring complaints center on the spinning mop design, which doesn't collect dirty water and can spread grime, plus a notably bad odor from the dirty-water tank — "one of the worst smells I've encountered," per one owner. Others say obstacle avoidance and mopping lag behind competitors like the Roborock Qrevo Master or Dreame Freo Z Ultra, and skepticism is raised about whether the marketed suction (Pascal) rating translates into meaningfully more real-world airflow. One long-term owner of a $1,400 unit called the overall experience simply "underwhelmed." Good for buyers prioritizing the chassis-lift feature for rugs and tight furniture gaps; those chasing best-in-class mopping or obstacle avoidance may be better served by a rival flagship.
