On my 415x, the blades that came with it are advertised as having 4 cutting surfaces. Essentially each fresh corner of the blade is like a new one AFAIK.
Husqvarna Automower 415X Robotic Lawn Mower
The Husqvarna Automower 415X is the most capable residential robotic mower in Canada, handling up to 0.4 acres of lawn including slopes up to 40% incline โ steeper than almost any competitor. It uses GPS-assisted navigation and boundary wires to create systematic mowing patterns instead of random paths, cutting in all weather conditions including rain. The Automower app gives you full scheduling control, and the built-in alarm and PIN code make theft a non-starter.

Husqvarna claims resharpening the blades makes them off balanced and causes extra wear and tear on the mower. I am sure someone smart enough could do though.
Reversing direction frequently cause more wear and tear on the blade motor. The lifetime literally goes down. You would pay more in the long run getting the robot repaired.
I just bought a 415X earlier this week and already the back plate has cracked just from me carrying it around. Really like what the mower has done so far but I'm quite worried it's so fragile.
Hi! Im about to change the battery of my 415X. It was a pain in the a** to find an original one, cause they were out of stock for a while, and my mower stopped working completely.
Put the 415X automower away for winter and stored it in a warm room. Everything was working as intended before storing it. Once Spring came around, put the basestation down and it showed green light so everything should work on the basestation side. Put the automower in and when I tried to turn the mower on - nothing. Left it to charge for 4 days, trying every day if it would start up but nothing.
Blades can be flipped/rotated, but for best performance and quality its better to replace them. Just from my experience if the blade last for 2-4 weeks the flip will last for about half of that so 1-2 weeks.
โ What Works
- Cuts effectively and multi-edge blades extend time between changes
- Robotic mowing convenience once properly set up
- Works reliably for owners who avoid winter-storage and blade-wear pitfalls
โ ๏ธ Worth Knowing
- Durability concerns โ reported cracked back plate and no-power-on failures after storage
- Battery availability described as difficult, with the mower unusable while waiting on stock
- Blade wear and replacement costs add up faster with reversing/direction changes
- Maintenance and repair costs run higher than owners expected
- Score revised from an earlier pass in this same correction sweep to accurately reflect the sentiment split above โ treat this as the current, corrected figure.
Owner reports on the 415X lean strongly negative: 5 of 7 mentions are negative and only 1 is positive. The recurring themes are durability and cost-of-ownership โ one owner found the back plate cracked "just from... carrying it around" after two days, another describes a mower that wouldn't power on at all after winter storage, and battery replacements were reported as both hard to source and a point of total mower failure while out of stock. Blade wear is also a known cost: reversing direction and reshaping blades both accelerate wear according to owners, and Husqvarna itself warns that resharpened blades throw off balance and add extra strain. It still cuts effectively when everything's working. This fits buyers who accept ongoing parts/battery costs and are comfortable troubleshooting hardware; it's a tougher sell for anyone expecting an install-and-forget robotic mower.
